Well, we got everyone a blog page. Unfortunately, I accidentally added 15 of the blogs through Mr. Landow’s page instead of mine, so he got all of the e-mails. I am assuming I can connect the kids to my blog, but I have to figure that out. I also have to figure out how to make a blogroll to easily connect everyone. That shouldn’t be hard, but it would be easier if I had their e-mails!

I don’t understand why I can’t scroll down the dropdown menu for all of the blogs that are under my account. There must be a reason. . .

Ms. Johnston was unbelievably helpful and showed us the SIRS database. It had terrific information from varied sources. The kids were busy taking notes and trying to figure out if the information they found would be useful for their film.

Our next big step will be dividing into groups and tackling the “chapters” of our film. I think that will be difficult for them to narrow down the topic and I’m trying to figure out a good way for them to think through the wholeness of the film.

From their questions that they put on the board yesterday, it seems like a logical beginning would be “Is Global Warming Really Happening?” and assuming their findings are yes, (or maybe even no) the last section might be “What Can We Do?” would be the final question. That leaves three sections to be determined. K–was interested in Religious Intolerance, so I suggested that maybe she look at some of the soci0-political implications of Global Warming. Maybe she’ll come up with a middle focus. . .

I need to make a screen cast of how to post–I wonder if I can post that right here on the blog–I’m sure I can. . . just have to figure it out.

Deb suggested that adults in the community might be willing to read the blogs–she’s planning on doing that with her 8th graders next year–so I will try to scramble to get some volunteers. I think I can find some interested parties.

And we haven’t even started talking about the film part! Yikes!
